quick watercolors

I was up in Seattle for a couple days- got to see the Lady Washington, a replica 112 foot brig that sails up and down the coast as a teaching/educational ship. The original was the first US ship to make it to the Pacific coast- pretty neat. I sat down and did a 30ish minute sketch, watercolor and pen. Also a misty morning looking out over Lake Washington. lady_washington mossbay

more mechanical village stuff

so, after staring at some of the thinner looking thumbs, i got to thinking that maybe it’s windy in the swamp where these guys are placed – and maybe part of the reason to keep them on huge mechanical legs is so they can swing into position parallel to the wind. Still in progress.. mechhuts-2-2

new stuff

BAM! new work

This guy is Commander Carter Reid- sort of a mix between a Jack Aubrey type character and more of a swashbuckling adventurer. I was thinking about the royal navy stationed around india way back when, and how they started to pick up bits and pieces of the local character- that mixed with a bit of game fantasy fun.
